The goal of GS@RMIT is to promote the development and application
of global sustainability principles and learnings in addressing real
world challenges. One way to achieve this is to collaborate with corporations,
government and other organisations, assisting them to become working
models of global sustainability.
In recent years there has been a rapid increase in the awareness
of corporations worldwide that their future may well depend on their
ability to address global sustainability issues across all dimensions
– social, economic, environmental and governance.
Demands for greater corporate accountability are intensifying from
national governments, international institutions and local communities.
Such demands are based on the growing recognition that corporations
are responsible not just to shareholders, but to a wide range of
stakeholders, including employees, consumers and the communities
in which they operate.
GS@RMIT will work with corporations and other organisations to
explore the practical implications of the global sustainability
agenda for their business and to assist in developing thorough,
integrated responses addressing their specific needs. We are committed
to helping Australian companies play a leading role in incorporating
global sustainability principles into their long-term strategies
and day-to-day operations.
